The first major High Holiday services are Erev Rosh Hashanah on Wednesday evening at 7 pm., followed by Rosh Hashanah morning service on Thursday, September 9 at 10:00 a.m. Come (arrive early as these services can be crowded) and be part of the Bozeman Jewish community. On Thursday morning, hear the blowing of the shofar, calling us to remembrance, awareness, and the presence of divinity in our lives. Note on parking: You may park in the Albertson's lot for the evening service, but NOT for the morning, so in the morning, please park on the street.
Join us at Bozeman Ponds for this short beautiful service where we symbolically cast away our sins from the past year into the water. We will be joined by both of our High Holiday cantors.
Join us for our special more innovative Rosh Hashanah service and continue the deep work of our High Holidays
Shabbat Shuva (the Shabbat of return) is the Shabbat between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. This special shabbat service includes High Holiday themes of forgiveneness and transformation.
Join us for our annual mikveh in preparation for Yom Kippur as we release those parts of us no longer serving us and take on the energy of the new year. Meet at the Temple at Noon and we will carpool the 10 minutes to the local stream.
The haunting melody of Kol Nidre highlights this service, the start of Yom Kippur and the holiest of Jewish holidays.
Spend all day with us onYom Kippur. Morning service begins at 10:00. Teachings and discussions throughout the afternoon led by Rabbi Ed and guest rabbis. Yizkor (Remembrance of loved ones) and Neilah (concluding service) begins at 5:00, followed by the break the fast at 6:00 p.m. (dairy pot luck).
Beth Shalom is a Jewish community which prays with joy and meaning, celebrates the history and traditions of Judaism, and cares and nurtures one another. We love to study and we offer many adult and child education opportunities.
We are committed to equal participation and status for men and women, those of all sexual orientations, and others who have been marginalized in Jewish life in the past. We welcome all Jews and interfaith families, at all stages of life. We strive to eliminate any conflict between Judaism and modernity, fully embracing science as consistent with our understanding of G!d and Jewish tradition.
We are involved in g’millut chasadim (acts of loving-kindness) and tikun olam (repairing the world), engaging in social justice work throughout local and global communities. We are deeply committed to interfaith dialogue in which we understand that all religions offer access to G!d and spiritual growth through their respective traditions. And we embrace a global vision of the role of human beings and their individual spiritual paths in the transformation of our precious planet ... read more
